Brexit and
Article 50 - the decision of the High Court
on 3 November 2016 |
||
I do apologise
for my hasty and obviously undemocratic support
for the decision of the High Court
yesterday.
Having read the Daily Mail and the Daily Express today I now realise how wrong I was. Clearly, the tone and reasoning offered on the front pages of these two intellectually compelling journals is totally appropriate and convincing. So that you may be as fully persuaded as I am, I reproduce below the relevant parts of the front pages of these two outstanding newspapers - First the Daily Express:
As their editorial says, "Truly, November 3, 2016 was the day democracy died'. And now the Daily Mail: Obviously I hope, as I am sure you will when you have considered matters more deeply, that the Courts will indeed 'back down' and stop their attempt to put Britain on course for a 'full-blown constitutional crisis'. Only in this way can our country's greatness be restored. I feel very chastened. |
